THE PROGRAMS

Each year the need for Aurora Commons footprint has increased with an increased number of both regular and new people accessing our community. In response we have built programs and collaborative partnerships with local organizations and donors to meet the needs of our unhoused neighbors. Through strategic planning, donation, volunteer coordination, and community grants we consistently provide free meals and use of a kitchen, clothing closet, toiletries, connection to local resources, mailing address, phone, wound care kits, condoms, “bad date” reporting (King County posting site), art therapy, yoga, writing classes, women’s support and drop in hours for SBSW’s, direction for housing referrals, a weekly outreach and street (not in-house) syringe exchange. In addition, we have been able to organize uncoordinated, ad hoc, social and healthcare services including a weekly mobile medical clinic.
